Post-consumer PE and PP film arrives with sand, paper labels, metal and moisture. A film washing line removes them before the material goes to the granulator. The choice comes down to three numbers: capacity, water consumption and floor space.
What the line does
A typical PE/PP film washing line runs through these stages: belt conveyor → crusher → screw conveyor → sink-float tank → friction washer → dewatering → drying → storage silo. The sink-float tank separates heavy contamination such as sand, metal and stones from the floating film. The friction washer removes the remaining dirt and labels. Dewatering and drying reduce the moisture so the chips can be fed to a granulating machine.
1. Capacity
Capacity sets the size of every unit downstream. Winone offers four models: WIN300 (200–300 kg/h), WIN500 (300–500 kg/h), WIN800 (500–800 kg/h) and WIN1000 (800–1000 kg/h). Size the line from the film you can actually collect, and leave headroom for seasonal fluctuation.
2. Water use
Water demand is set by the washing system, not by capacity alone. The specification table of the PE film washing line lists the water demand of each model: 0.3 t/h for WIN300, 0.6 t/h for WIN500, 1 t/h for WIN800 and 1.5 t/h for WIN1000. If water is expensive or the supply is limited, plan tank circulation and refill before purchase.
3. Floor space
The four models need about 80, 150, 200 and 250 m² respectively. The layout matters as much as the figure – a line installed in a short building needs a different arrangement of the screw conveyors.
What decides the final cleanliness
- crush size – smaller pieces release dirt faster, but raise the load on the washer;
- residence time in the sink-float tank;
- number of friction washing stages;
- rinsing before dewatering;
- drying temperature and time.
Where the film is heavily contaminated, two friction washing stages give a cleaner chip. Where the film is clean in-house scrap, one stage is usually enough.
Summary
Size the line from the film you can collect, not from the highest capacity on the list. Check water supply and floor space as carefully as the throughput. Washed chips can be fed directly to a granulating machine.
